UBUNTU CARRIES PTY LTD is a South African Virtual Trucking Company founded in 2024 and built around one principle: We Aim For Excellence.

We are more than a VTC — we are a growing trucking community built on teamwork, discipline, consistency, leadership and the enjoyment of Euro Truck Simulator 2.

Our drivers are encouraged to develop their skills, achieve personal milestones and contribute to the growth of the company. From individual achievements to major convoy challenges, every kilometre contributes to the Ubuntu Carries journey.

DRIVER REQUIREMENTS

- New applicants should have a minimum of 30,000–50,000 km of previous driving experience.
- Applicants with fewer than 30,000 km may be considered where the recruiter identifies strong potential, commitment and a willingness to develop.
- All drivers are expected to maintain the company’s 25,000 km monthly performance target.
- Drivers must record a minimum of 10,000 km per month to qualify for company convoy participation.
- Drivers are required to remain active and maintain professional communication with management.
- Drivers who are unable to meet their monthly requirements must communicate with management and provide a valid reason for their inactivity.
- Drivers are expected to comply with all company procedures, operational standards and management instructions.
- New drivers must complete 50,000 km with Ubuntu Carries PTY LTD before receiving the official company skin.
- Company skins are earned through commitment, consistency, performance and contribution to the company.

MONTHLY KILOMETER REQUIREMENTS

- 25,000 km — Standard monthly performance target.
- 10,000 km — Minimum monthly requirement for convoy eligibility.
- Drivers should aim to consistently meet or exceed the 25,000 km monthly target.
- Failure to meet the required standard may result in management review and disciplinary action, depending on the circumstances.
- Drivers who anticipate being unable to meet their target must communicate with management as early as possible.
- Valid circumstances will be reviewed by management on a case-by-case basis.

OPERATIONAL SPEED RULES

- 90 km/h — Standard operating speed.
- 91–95 km/h — Permitted speed tolerance.
- 96– 99 km/h — Acceptable.
- Over 100 km/h — Serious speeding offence.
- Drivers must operate their vehicles responsibly and avoid unnecessary speeding.
- The 100km/h limit must never exceeded under normal operating conditions.
- Speed records may be verified through TrucksBook and company records.

- 96–99 km/h

- Acceptable


- Over 100 km/h

- Classified as a serious speeding offence.
- Results in a 1-week company convoy ban and a formal warning.

- Second serious speeding offence

- Results in a 2-week convoy suspension.
- Final warning may be issued.

- Repeated serious speeding offences

- May result in further disciplinary action.
- Continued violations may lead to dismissal from Ubuntu Carries PTY LTD.

- Racing records

- More than 3 racing records within a calendar month will trigger a management disciplinary review.
- Management will consider the circumstances and frequency of the offences before determining further action.

- All speed violations are subject to verification through TrucksBook records and company records.

GENERAL DISCIPLINARY RULES

- Drivers are expected to conduct themselves professionally at all times.

- Warnings may be issued for:

- Failure to follow company procedures.
- Poor or repeated lack of communication.
- Failure to follow management instructions.
- Failure to meet established company standards.
- Unprofessional behaviour.
- Misconduct.
- Repeated operational violations.
- Other breaches of company rules.

- Disciplinary action may escalate depending on the seriousness and frequency of the offence.

- Repeated offences may result in:

- Formal warning.
- Final warning.
- Suspension.
- Convoy restrictions.
- Dismissal.

- Serious misconduct may result in immediate dismissal, depending on the circumstances.

- Management reserves the right to review individual circumstances before applying disciplinary action.

DISMISSAL POLICY

- 0 km logged during an entire calendar month without prior communication or a valid reason may result in immediate dismissal.
- Serious misconduct may result in immediate dismissal.
- Repeated violations following previous disciplinary action may result in dismissal.
- Consistent failure to meet company standards may result in removal from Ubuntu Carries PTY LTD.
- Continued inactivity without communication may result in dismissal.
- Deliberate disregard of company rules or management instructions may result in dismissal.
- Management may consider valid circumstances before finalising a dismissal decision.

DRIVER COMMUNICATION & ACTIVITY

- Drivers must maintain reasonable communication with management.
- Drivers who become unavailable for an extended period must notify management.
- The reason for inactivity and the expected period of unavailability should be communicated where possible.
- Failure to communicate prolonged inactivity may be treated as a company conduct issue.
- Active drivers are expected to contribute to the growth and operations of Ubuntu Carries PTY LTD.

- New drivers must complete 50,000 km with Ubuntu Carries PTY LTD before qualifying for the official company skin.
- The company skin represents a driver’s commitment and contribution to the VTC.
- Receiving the company skin is a recognition of consistent participation and performance.
- Management reserves the right to review eligibility where a driver has a history of disciplinary issues or poor conduct.

- Management is responsible for maintaining company standards and ensuring that drivers operate within established rules.
- The Owner has final authority over major company decisions.
- Department managers are responsible for enforcing standards within their respective areas.

- Human Resources handles disciplinary matters, warnings, probation, suspensions and employee-related concerns.
